Ok to begin with does The Devil care with what he/she is working?? May be not..
Since girls are more into Fashion and trends.... sorry about the phun .. but not many guys I know really care about FASHION.. How they "Look"... Yes.. but they wouldn't care about what they are wearingg.. or which brand it is.... And most men actuallyy dread shopping... It will be like Whatttttt ??? Shopping..? What happened to your Gf's??
Ask any girl about CK , Nina Rucci , Gucci , Chanel , Burberry , Disel , Christian Dior to name a few.. And she would be dying to own something or the other from these Big names of the industry.. And secretlyy wishing something happens and it just falls on to her lap..
Well from time to time we do end up thinking [ including guys.. am sure there might some Rayban Glasses.. or some Hever watch you are ogling at...].. Goshh how would it be if I wear something like this.. or could look like that.. or own that bag/watch.. or that pair of amazing glasses...
Hnmm yessss... Am sure you have thought about it..
For girls.. It just acts as an extended part of our sexuality.. It kind of defines us how we want to feel about ourself ... well may be not all the time that is applicable.. hehe some off us actually just wear clothes because we have to wear them.. ok ok.. was being a bit cheesyy there..
Am sure all of you must have had dayss when you couldn't be bothered the way you looked.. Didn't care about the world and went ahead and did what you felt the best was... I hope everybody is still thinking about appearances right now.. If not please do get back to thatt...
Guyss.. Questiong for you...
Why do you think a girl goes of for shopping as a best way of therapy?? Especially when she's upset or happyy.. ;)
Because we need that moral boost .. We need to make ourself feel that
Yes we are worth something.. incase if its our happiness then.... It will be we are worth something..... It just a make feel good factor....both ways.... Good or bad... Technically its just another way of pampering ourselves....
So now back to our topic...
Devil wears Prada... hnnmm well even the Devil need's to feel good rite ;)

I’d agree that many girls prefer good brands, but I also feel sorry for people who can’t afford them. Especially the kids I see in shopping malls, when they ask their parents something and the parents couldn’t get them, I feel sad. Speaking of fashion, whatever cosmetics and fashion dresses women wear, then that ‘hand bag’ doesn’t make them look pretty. Today I was at the Preston Mela (It’s a 6 hours summer celebration hosting Asian cultural programmes, and a few live branded Hindi bands really made a fantastic day with raps and dances; unfortunately ‘Masala Dosa’ finished by the time we popped in), and I had the opportunity to see a lot of pretty country cousins (such Indians I haven’t seen even in India, lol) but I was wondering what’s in their handbags, and I thought their fashion wear would well suit to them to look pretty if they hadn’t gotten those handbags. I know how women smile when they get expensive brands, as I have sisters who measure the brand value with the price tag!
I disagree the point about guys are not into shopping fun or brands. Maybe for some of them shopping fun or brands needn’t be a concern.
Your question: Why do you think a girl goes of for shopping as a best way of therapy?? Especially when she's upset or happyy.. ;)
Because the crowd, music and attractive products make girls’ mind to be busy with those, and help them forget whatever made them upset or to be more happy if they are already happy. I think this therapy works for guys as well.
Then the street shopping (Souks in Dubai and Bahrain are best examples; you got to see the Gold city in Dubai in particular – street gold shops), it’s fun to look around the small shops, having steamed pop corns with butter, chilly, pepper and salt. Isn’t it?
I think I am writing more than you in your blog! But, things to argue or say, huh?
hehe can see someone has actually changed their profile pic as well..
hope u had a nice time at the preston mela..
but yes i do agree about the country cousin bit..some ppl actually carry so much stuff and well if u ask them somethingg.. nothing worth while would be in it..
as per the shopping bit.. i haven't seen any guy say am going to mall for shopping and just walk around shops for hours together.. we girls would do that... hehe sometimes we are quite jobless..
anywayss.. it is a point of discussion.. thats why my blog was so small.. and not the comments.. :) so its cool.. don't worry about it.. if you got more thoughts.. just go ahead and spill it outt :)
Ya, I like changes, too often, but it's a 4 years old picture. Sometimes if I'm in a not so good mood, I may delete this profile as well (lol), that’s what I did to Orkut, Hi5 and Facebook. Hey, the video that I mentioned to Soh (for her British Indian understatement) and you a few days ago, is there in my 'English boy' post. Pls tell Soh to watch the video (she's absconding for a while). Those cousins are pretty, nicer than what I have seen in India. BTW, this is one of the bands that came to sunny Preston today. http://youtube.com/watch?v=zYWFBXLnlxY
she's a bit busy with all her dance and stuff.. i have passed on the message.. so she should be active soon..
Thanks Miss Dior. And if you still want to clarify if guys would like shopping, give me your visa card, I will prove it :).
I have better idea.. we shall take ur card.. and u can buy stuff for me .. What say Mr Hugo ???
Oh yes, I have no issues as long as it would protect the image of all men in this world, even if you don’t credit it back once the competition is over. Where? Madrid or Singapore or Dubai or Las Vegas or London?
Well u know how much into fashion and shopping i am nah? hehe...
but im not into brands or anythin...i cn buy anythin...as long as i like it, il buy it and wear it...i agree, brand names do mean a million bucks when we own them but i dont think it matters alwayz...
its all about carryin urself well ad with confidence...i had done a post on this earlier (i dont know whthr u rem)...i have a million views on this...all r weird in their own ways...! missed u ani bunny! muah!
Preeti: I visited your blog on the day you wrote that ‘Prayers’ blog, and then I checked if the Kid’s fine and glad to know about it later. Oh, you have gotten a link with Bahrain! It’s a nice place these days and the last 4 years I lived there are happiest days. I’d comment your blog, unfortunately there were too many comments in your posts and there are no [spaces] to comment, lol.
To be honest, except for a few things, I go brands just to show off… to friends and then every time I went unbranded, friends made fun out of me. Most of my shopping had done by friends, until the time I moved to the UK.
Well, im not a brand person. ..though I must say I love expensive jewellry :)! So that part of me is all woman
Btw tagged you!
ShaJi : I have no problem in shopping anywhere.. as long as i get to spend your moneyy.. lol
Pretha: missin you bum.. liked the peanutss a lot..hehe as usual.. :) and i hope u write another blog on fashion.. hehe cant wait to read tht and ur new comments for it..
Anu: Yup Jewelleryy.. how could we ever saw no to that.. oh and thanks for tagging me.. I need to check what you have tagged me for.. hope its something i can write about..
@Shaji: U know what!???!!? I was gonna just comment on your comment here asking u on your connection with Bahrain! I was gonna tell u that ur comment had the word Bahrain and my eye scans and picks out this info from ANYWHERE!!!
I do have a link with Bahrain..I was born abd raised there and to me it still is home, though dad and mum have moved back as well..Doesnt change the fact tat it is the place of my childhood right? Are u there now? Isn't it just LOVELY??!! WOW!!
And PLEASEEEEE! If u do read my posts and find them comment-worthy, please please do comment...Whether or not there are many comments, I ALWAYZ, ALWAYZ reply to all comments and read all and each one means a lot...Ok, I've done everything but beg u to comment now :D hehe...
I am not a girl, but i like brands. Atleast those that are worth the effort, not the hype!
Cant shopping be an exercise on a need basis? Like buy when you need it. and yes, before you ask, Window shopping is totally a waste of everyone's time, incl the mannenquin. :)
Everytime i take my wife out for shopping, we end up fighting, and she ends up buying only half the stuff she wanted to. Why? Because this exerise in moral rearmament is very boring. There.
I have said the un-sayable.
Preeti : I can see you are extending your Bahrain connection through my blog as well ;) lol hehe only u can do that.. hehe
K10: well I must say.. It cant be considered as an excerise..But shopping at need come need basis is what works most of the time..
For me window shopping has never worked.. I always go for shopping.. But then do I find it boring.. Sometimes yes.. Because I might not find what I want or.. I am hurried around as if I was supposed to be somewhere else.. which is not true..
BTW Shaji and Pretha.. You guys are tagged.. so check out my new blog ;)
Preeti: You flattered me with your Kiddish approach. I’m not in Bahrain at the moment. I was living and working in Bahrain from 2003 to early 2008, and I had lived in Dubai and India before, although I was born and brought up in India (Kanyakumari). I’m trying to visit Bahrain whenever I fly India, and possibly after 3 years I wish to live in Bahrain for some more time. The reasons are 1) It’s a cosmopolitan city mixed with homely atmosphere 2) Mix of western, Indian and Arabian culture and yes Arabian luxury 3) Wonderful shopping 4) Beautiful roads to drive 5) Fuel is cheaper than water so almost every evening we had to burn fuel 6) Freedom – even India did not give me the freedom that Bahrain gave us 7) No personal worries or problems 8) Nice restaurants 9) One day I looked at the skies in Bahrain and said ‘I’m the happiest man on earth’ 10) Although I was difficult to get along with new people, my friends made it happen; they took care of me from shopping, health, vacation packing to night outs, dinners… 11) You can go out even at 12 pm as the city is too bright and busy 12) Living comfort - I hate to put clothes in washing machine in the UK, not getting someone to drive me to office…; my luxury has gone!
I do wish you visit Bahrain often, and yes I can understand your emotions and attachment with your home town Bahrain. And for this ex-NRI status, you’d also love and cry watching that video form the movie in my post. I also hope you’d be glad to see these pictures about how Bahrain looks today. http://www.flickr.com/search/?q=bahrain , and especially page 2 has some pictures to wonder how it looks during the nights. They have built the ‘Bahrain International Circuit’ to conduct Formula 1 racing, a financial harbour for business, and a lot…. I don’t know if you were there when SEEF and GEANT malls were opened. Now the new city centre with 300 stores, largest indoor water park in middle east, largest cinema in middle east with 20 screens, two international hotels…http://www.majidalfuttaim.com/maf.php?id_l2=12.
Any stuff in Bahrain, we can cover as per the ‘we will take your card’ deal with Ani (how nicely she said it, rather than telling ‘you will take your card’).
Ani: Spending money is one of my hobbies (strange, huh?). Scotland is not anywhere near London too!
And I missed to say this…
Another day in my life! Yesterday was my B’day. I don’t want to hear Happy B’day songs please; I want to see and hear things that’d make me laugh! I want to live forever, otherwise I want to die tomorrow (lol). I’m alive http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CCOSWkrmb1E (this is one of the best live DVDs I bought). BTW, I am a live music fan, and would like being a DJ, so sing along! I will write about my passion towards pro-sound engineering and acoustics in my post one day.
u
Shaji you never told it was ur birthday considering we even commented yesterday.. hope you had a nice day..
and loads of fun.. :)
hehe can see you and pretha have established the bahrain connection.. hehe good good.. :)
and btw guys.. i really dont mind taking my card.. as long as we all end up paying the bill.. lol..
and i know london is not near scotland.. but dont worryy i can travel a bit for shopping.. i reallyy dont mind.. reallyy :)
Ani: I either might have forgotten to tell you or I didn’t feel this year’s B’day much, and that’s why I was annoyed to say ‘I don’t want to hear any B’day songs.’ I’m sorry. But I’m still dreaming to build a runway at the backyard, buy a small airplane on my 38th B’day, get the corporate cake’s plum (can you guess? clue: a book called ‘straight from the gut’) and all that. I also wish my parents will live until I die.
‘guys’? so all the above people coming to London? Would you want to invite Preeti too, if you don’t have issues with our Bahrain connection? Lol.
Hey, it’s not about card. What I meant was, it’s nice you saying ‘we’ rather than ‘you’ (me).
Shaji : Guess you need a break.. And common celebrating is not that bad a thing.. Especially one's birthday.. Its celebrating the existence of you here.. and I know all am growing old.. well thats ok..
hnnm did hear about that book.. don't know cant exactly finish the management type books for some reason.. lol..
I have always been telling Preeti to come here.. But then she never seem to take me up for it.. So you can try convincing her now..
Convincing me isnt the difficult task guys (shaji and ani) iv been convinced for like ages...it's just my dad who requires all the convincing and that, as ani u shud be knowing, is not easy at all...he just would never get it...ever...!
And shaji..Bahrain has changed sooooo much :( I mean im really happy and stuff but i just miss it sooo much...all of what u wrote abt bahrain makes me feel so happy and smile from the inside cuz im just so happy to find someone else who shares the same happiness and love for the place!
Seef and geant...ytea...it's like Seef district nowe isnt it? i just LOVe goin there and shoppin...some of my bestest memories have been there man...seriously love it...ok im gonna cry now...
And happyyy bday...u dont wanna get the song? Hell, im gonna give it to ya! Happy birthday to u, happy birthday to u, happy birhtday dear shaji, happy birthday to u! Woohooo!!! :D
ha ha i knew it you wouldnt be able to resist the birthday song.. ok let me also sing it then..
happy birthday to youu.. happy birthday dear shajii.. happy birthday to you. lol
hehe and pretha am sure.. you couldnt have just stopped talking about Bahrain now.. i know i know.. its not that easy.. oh well you got another person to share and talk stuff about :) and about convincing uncle.. hnnm err what was the question again.. ;)
Totally. I want that Diesel tote and the awesome Givenchy V-neck blazer. But I also want food. And so will buy easily affordable and save the Givenchys and Guccis for special occasions. :D
Thanks for the songs! Shukran!
I remember one story/joke from BH. You know there’s an Indian club. One day they served lunch in banana leaves. A non-Indian guy thought it was a salad served for him and ate the banana leaf, lol. I may go to BH in Sept. Preeti, that’s the right time to cry!
How many times I’ll take a break? I have visited home 3 times since Nov. I think I need to be more busy. The only place which would give me a good break is a vacation to Space. I’m not into blogs too, it’s absolutely meaningless spending time which can be spent in more meaningful ways than virtual I think. I think nowadays people are spending more time in internet than true life. I wish I’d write about it one day. No offence please….cos I do respect the people who write things I read.
Soh’s mom cooked curries! Yummy…
I tried to get the URL of Radio Bahrain (96.5) live stream from internet for Preeti, but it’s not working http://www.radiobahrain.net! So for the time being you guys can hear our Rock FM live if you all have good broadband. http://www.rockfm.co.uk . This is one technology I like, rather than blogging and stuff… through which you can feel different places you lived or visited from anywhere in the world.
I am talking too much, but it’s useful I think.
my mum cooks curries everyday! whats not normal about that? lol. em...yes, i must agree that i use retail therapy to make myself feel better. and it only works cos i'm distracted with talking to others or looking/trying on clothes. we had glasgow mela today! couldnt go...but apparently it was really good. :)
Soh bum.. i know she cooks curries everyday.. duhhhh... i live here with u ritee.. hehe and retail therapy works most of the time.. hehe so no problem.. Its ok babez.. we shall go to the glasgow mela some other time..
I am sure we can manage that..
Million : I know exactly what you talking about babez.. so yes those stuff can be left for special occasions.. Food is more important.. ;)
Shaji : Am sure you have now made pretha get more home sick.. well Bahrain is her first home.. and as far as i know... she would always always love to go back.. home much ever settled she's in chennai..
Pretha I think you would enjoy the bahrain radio channel now.. unless you didnt know that already.. :)
and yup soh's mom cooksss amaziiingggg
Who knew BI's cook curries? It's unfair you guys spilling curries on this blog, while I‘m eating everyday in restaurants! What’s the point if kids cry for the spilt drink anyway. I think I’ll try to cook sambar one day, but I don’t want anything to spoil my hands. Radio BH isn’t working from the UK.
Am so sorry shaji that we are talking about curry's now..
I was actually considering to write a whole blog about food.. but now am having second thoughts.. hnnmm
Hey, don't you ever spill curries on this blog! Especially curried Indian mutton!
BTW, Ani, I wrote some Arabic stuff in Preethi's today's news paper. With the build-up she gave in her 'I'm back' post’, I thought she would have come out of a vacation to moon or had sung some ‘Pehla Nasha’ song (now you found it!) somewhere in the train journey. Anyways try translating. She’s gonna kill me now! I need your support.
Shaji : guess what coincidence or what but we had mutton yesterday for dinner.. hehe i thought u needed to know that ;) hehe .. i just commented on that blog saying it has to be you.. about the pehla nasha song.. lol
and am ritee..yaayyy..
and again what am i supposed to be translating..
and can i watch her kill you??
hehe sorry ;) bad joke..
rightt just checked her blog..
err i dont know to read or write arabic..err what made u tell me to translate..??
what is it anyways??
If you want to learn Arabic, go to http://translate.google.com , copy and paste that Arabic thing I wrote, translate into English. Do you think I know Arabic? I just typed something in English and translated into Arabic. Don’t tell her about this idea.:)
Shaji she is sooo going to kill you.. hehe be prepared.. :)
Oh, she might not have triggered email alert on this post. If so, I'll escape. But I'm sure you will tell her through some other way.
