Well ppl who have read my previous blog..
This is like a continuation of that blog..
Ok the next day was my D-day for the event which so happens to be titled as "Aaja Nachle " - Come along and dance. ( thanks to moiz who suggested it ) . I think the title is really groovyyy and nice.. Brings out the whole esscense of the show of enjoy.. be merry.. i do sound like robin hood and his men..
Well anyways.. after all my outburst the previous evening. I didn't go to the practice session that was organised in the morning.
1. I had invigilation of exams that day..oh yes i do invigilate ( and if you guys are wondering how me.. and invigilate.. err well even i don't have an answer for that yet.. )
2. I didnt feel like it as well.. lol but the first excuse is better :)
Anyways.. so met soh, moiz , roh , deepa , aj n preethi auntie at the chaplaincy for lunch. And discussed what to do for the evening. And had everything arranged for the evening.
And then it was 5 pm. we all managed to reach.. I was running late. As i got caught by wanji and then by Esther. But managed to get away from them and off I went to see what the evening had instore for me.
So came home.. got refreshed .. left the place.. then realised i had forgotten my keys .. so came back in.. and banged my flat door.. n no one opened up.. so called one of my flat mates to come open the door.. which detained me some more time trying to explain to her the situation and then reminding her to come for the event.. and then rushing back to the union... phewww.. during which time i had got couple miss calls from moiz and sohini asking where i was considering i stay quite close to the union.. rather the university where the union is to begin with..
Anyways.. door's were open by 6pm.. and since its a proper South East Asian Event.. well we would obviously start fashionably late.. ( has such a nice ring to it isnt it .. lol ) and so we did..
Started off with a dance.. where i was the guy ( considering we couldn't get enough guys to dance.. i don't know whyyy ) and then finally ended up being the girl.. and so didnt know the steps.. and thus ended up performing a mix of girl and guy's step..
The other program's continued without a hitch.. with couple of us still forgetting steps.. The fashion show was great.. as ppl just had to walk and show off their costumes and do the walk thing.. so that was nice..
And then there was this problem of the food.. lol no one knew when it arrived and we all were waiting for it.. Then realised it must be outside as you need a student id or an invitation to come inside.. so all of us rushed to the different entrances and guess what I found it..
And there I was carrying these huge boxes wearing the saree and walking in heel's and all the gorra's ( if I may say so .. ) were just looking at me wondering " What is she trying to do.. ? " .. which by then even I was wondering.. By then soh and couple of our Asian guys saw me and helped with getting the food in.. and the food was served..
And must say was afraid if we were going to have enough for all.. but we did.. And after all this.. it was party time.. with the Dhol player - Gurjeet who came from glasgow.. ( thanks to moiz who organised that )... And Haroon the DJ it was a nice partyy nite...
Hurrayyyyy it was a blast... :)
So the disaster turned out well .. must say :)

oh commonn.. its not that bad... hehe its fun.. remember..
It’s not difficult deriving (driving – Scotland dialect) up to Scotland, but I’ll be bored without knowing anyone out here deering (during) such events! Inta? (inta means- ‘isn’t’ in Lancashire).
heyy... its not tht different dialects ok.. goshh u make it sound as if its like some different race or species..
and anyways.. thats how u meet people..
No Ani, I am not British! I love Scotland although I had never been to. Hey I commented about Lancashire (my place) dialect as well. Every county in England has its own dialects. Mea Culpa – you know what is it? You gotta go to Newcastle!
lol....to be honest ani, this guy is absolutely correct. "am gona go doon the toon tae get yer mulk fae the shaps." its a totally different language. lol
mea culpa...lol
am gona go doon the toon tae get yer mulk fae the shaps
I'm going to go down the twon to get you milk from the shops? am I right?
Soh, are you british indian?
and Ani, for 'and anyways.. thats how u meet people..' hmm thanks for your invitation. If it’s in Lancashire, I’m sure I’d attend the cultural event, but Scotland....can keep in mind.
Haha...so all of u nachofied and had fun??? :D
hehe thts understatement if one pretha.. nachoofied is not the word.. hehe
remember the song dance with me baby... err well i did dance with couple of kids.. lol.. dont know if scared them though.. should check about that.. but yehh it was fun...
n shajit.. dont know if we would organise one in lancashire though.. if we do.. u'll know from my ramblings here :)
I would go Scotland and meet people if you’d assure that you’d queue them based on your recent policy, ‘first come first’, unfortunately I can’t handle too may at the same time. ha ha.
by the way...yes, i am a british indian as u so nicely put it. :) and yup....well done for the deciphering!
@preeti...yeah, she scared loads of kids. :p just kidding.
soh: thats an understatment.. reallyyy
shajith : first come first basis.. err don't think we are planning to sell ppl now are we.. ;)
Soh: Kids? Then she may also try “Britain’s got talents!” I wrote a short journal last week titled ‘English boy’, and it also has a song from a bollywood movie. I would ask you to see/watch it. You’d like it, and I think the video will be a nice gift for you being a British Indian. I will publish it in my blog soon.
Ani: You too will like that video that I mentioned to Soh. Probably you’d have seen that full movie before. I’m not thinking anything about your very nice people, Mea culpa! Lol, but I may be fond of English (English what?), that’s what I told my parents too. True but just kidding. Cheers.
